Bulgaria's easyBoom - Daily Mail October 12th 2007Budget airlines are good news for a property market - and if their arrival heralds a boom then the Bulgarian capital Sofia ands nearby resort of Bansko are about to hit the jackpot.easyjet is to run three flights weekly from London Gatwick to Sofia from November 6, with one-way prices from £27.99. the arrival of the airline is the latest sign that Bulgaria is growing in popularity wiht tourists and holiday home-owners. Wizz Air flies four times weekly from Luton, while budget airlines May Air and Sky Europe link Sofia with Italy and other European locations. 'Low-cost operators have opened up regions that were not previously served by the main carriers and new tourist destinations have emerged' says Savills. 'There's an avarage premium of 37 per cent on property prices in locations served by low cost airlines.And medium-distance destinations, such as Bulgaria, often benefit the most'. |
