Therefore Bansko (small town south west of Sofia, BG) invested in a high-tech TechnoAlpin snowmaking system in 2003. Thanks to guaranteed snow cover and high quality snow, Bansko was chosen as FIS European Cup venue after only three seasons and has again be selected to host the event in the coming winter season. This year Bulgaria’s first fully automatic snowmaking system sees its fourth extension. A new ski trail section is built and 20 M18 tower-mounted fan guns and 30 A9V air-water sticks with central compressor station are installed.
